X Ray Technician Programs and Courses

Deciding to become an X-Ray Technician is an exciting step for many people. This position offers many people an exciting opportunity in a growing industry. The first step, after deciding, is to enroll in a school. There are hundreds of schools, across the country, that offer courses on becoming an X-Ray Technician.
There are three types of course paths a student can take in this exciting field. These course paths allow the individual to earn one of three certifications in the field. These certifications include a certificate of completion, an Associate’s Degree, and a Bachelor’s Degree. The certificate of completion course takes approximately one year to complete. It is often taken by individuals who have experience in the medical field already.
The Associate’s Degree course is the most commonly chosen program for this field. This course takes approximately two years to complete. It is a thorough course that will teach students the many skills that are needed to perform their job duties. This program includes textbook courses as well as clinical labs.
The Bachelor’s Degree program is the most thorough course for the X-Ray Technician field. This program takes most students four years to complete. The course covers everything that the Associate’s Degree covers and much more. This program allows students to obtain advanced studies in their field.
There are many different schools that offer X-Ray Technician courses. Many schools offer courses that can be taken online. This allows students the flexibility to take the courses as their schedule permits. This is especially helpful for students who are currently working or taking care of small children. However, clinical labs must be taken on the school campus. Therefore it is important to choose a school that is located near the student’s residence.
